Charlotte Whelan

Charlotte’s strengths are developing a school culture of high expectations and achievement,  organising teams and pastoral care. Charlotte perfected this model of student behaviour which contributed to Forest Gate’s success and made her the ideal candidate to lead a school in need of much improvement. Upon taking on the leadership of Waterside Academy, Charlotte has had a dramatic impact on learning and school culture, rapidly making it an extraordinary place for students to study and learn.

Charlotte is a great believer in working with the the communities in which the school is serving. She ensures that every single child has opportunities to develop their passion and excel. Charlotte also applied this principal to staff teams. Developing high quality teachers and support staff, who are able to pursue their passion as part of a supportive community of like-minded professionals ensures that students receive the very best possible educational experience.
